OnePlus is launching its latest flagship smartphone called OnePlus 5 in India on June 22. That’s just two days after the global launch of the smartphone. India is a significant market for OnePlus which has found several fans in the country.
A large chunk of specifications have already been leaked online, and the company has gone ahead and shown off the OnePlus 5 in its full glory on its Twitter profile. The OnePlus 5 looks awfully similar to a lot of existing flagship smartphones we’ve seen. That’s not new considering most smartphone manufacturers simply follow the leaders in the industry when it comes to industrial design while blowing up the specifications charts.

OnePlus 5 is likely to launch with two separate variants. One with 6GB RAM and another with 8GB RAM. It is indeed sane to see how Android smartphones need so much RAM, every other year. When it comes to pricing, the OnePlus 5 64GB may be priced as high as Rs. 32,999 while the 128GB variant can go up to Rs. 37,999. If these rumors are to be believed, OnePlus 5 may be a slightly expensive flagship considering the previous pricing by the company.
The OnePlus 5 will come with dual cameras, like the iPhone 7 Plus. That’s likely to be the USP of the launch event. OnePlus 5 will be available exclusively on Amazon India, like previous OnePlus devices. The smartphone is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC.
Traditionally, OnePlus fans have admired the high-end specifications that the company packs inside its devices. They may choose to ignore the identical looks this year for better specifications. One could argue that for a typical Android smartphone, the specifications can make all the difference in the world when it comes to user experience. After all, no one likes a smartphone to freeze up in 2017.
