HTC today launched its latest smartphone HTC U11 in the Indian market, a good one month after the global launch. The U-series of smartphones from HTC feature a unique style and are aimed at the higher end of the market. The HTC U11 features HTC’s Edge Sense technology that enables users to apply pressure on the sides of the smartphone to access navigational controls.
The HTC U11 is priced at Rs.51,990 in India. The smartphone will be available in the Indian market by the end of June this year. This variant includes 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The HTC U11 features a 3D liquid glass surface crafted using a process that the company calls Optical Spectrum Hybrid Deposition. The highly reflective back is a result of this technique. The HTC U11 features a curved look, offering a 3-axis symmetry that ensures the phone appears slim no matter how you hold one.
HTC U11 features a 5.5-inch 3D glass screen that offers a full-framed viewing angle and a real-life color reproduction to make all those photos and videos look better. HTC U11 is water-resistant, a feature we expect on almost every new smartphone that gets launched these days.
The USP of the HTC U11 is something called Edge Sense. Simply speaking, the HTC U11 lets you squeeze the phone while you’re holding it to access navigational gestures like taking a photo, launching a new app, sending a text, and more. HTC U11 also includes support for both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
The HTC U11 will ship with Sonic headset, which is the most advanced headset built for personal audio, according to HTC. The headset features active noise cancellation while promising extremely great sound reproduction. If that’s true, HTC might have solved one unique problem with most smartphones: none of them ship with decent enough headsets.
HTC has managed to attain a score of 90 in DxOMark which has made it the highest rated smartphone according to DxOMark benchmarks. HTC U11’s camera features electronic image stabilization system and multi-axis optics to ensure sharp photos and smoother videos.
HTC U11 also includes Auto HDR Boost that is capable of making the most out of HDR minus the lazy lag. HDR Boost promises more balanced photos by taking a large number of shots. HTC also claims to have integrated a full sense auto-focus technology that’s typically found in DSLR camera inside its HTC U11 camera to offer ‘ultra speed autofocus’.
The front-camera on the HTC U11 includes a 16MP sensor and HTC’s UltaPixel technology for taking selfies. Let there be no doubts that HTC has baked enough goodies inside the HTC U11’s camera to make it a premium smartphone.
The HTC U11 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC (system on a chip). The smartphone ships with a Rapid Charger 3.0, USB type-C cable, USB-C to 3.5mm convertor, HTC U11 Clear Shield, USonic headset, and a dust cloth. The smartphone runs Android 7.1 out of the box, paired with HTC Sense.
