IFA 2017 is currently ongoing in Berlin, Germany and this is the trade show where most of the major smartphone manufacturers launch their device in order to get the benefit from the holiday sales. The 2017 edition of IFA show some exciting launches from various manufacturers as well and we have compiled a short list of all the major launches at the IFA 2017.

1. LG V30

LG released the third generation of its LG V series of flagship smartphones, the LG V30 at the IFA 2017. The LG V30 is also the second major launch from the company after LG announced the LG G6 at the MWC held in Barcelona in February this year. The LG V30 comes with a full-vision display as well as dual camera setup same as the LG G6 and the device is claimed to currently be the best smartphone launched in 2017. The LG V30 is expected to launch in India in the month of October during the Diwali season

2. Moto X4

Motorola launched the flagship smartphone from the company in the Moto X series which is the Moto X4. The Moto X4 comes after the Moto X3 which was launched by the company in 2015 as the company decided to skip the Moto X series last year in favor of the Moto Z series. In terms of the Moto X4, the smartphone comes with a dual camera setup and premium design. The Moto X4 is expected to be available in India by the end of September or early October.

3. Sony Xperia XZ1 & XZ1 Compact

Sony launched the latest flagship smartphones in the Sony Xperia XZ series, the Sony Xperia XZ1 and Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. In terms of the design, both the Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact are same as the other smartphones in the Sony Xperia XZ series launched this year and the device comes with HDR support and 3D scanning for the camera. The interesting thing about this device is the smartphones have been announced to ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box by the end of September.

4. Sony Xperia XA1

Sony Xperia XA1 was also launched at the IFA 2017 by the company alongside the Sony Xperia XA1 and the Xperia XA1 Compact. The Sony Xperia XA1 is launched by the company in the mid-range segment as the smartphone has lower specifications than the Xperia XZ series from the company. The smartphone is expected to launch in India by the end of this year.

5. Kirin 970 Processor by Huawei

Huawei has announced its flagship processor for this year which is the Kirin 970. The company also announced that the Huawei Mate 10 which will be released later this year as Huawei’s flagship device for 2017 will be powered by this processor. The company also announced that the Kirin 970 is 20% more powerful in terms of performance and 50% more energy efficient than its predecessor, the Kirin 960.

6. Samsung Gear Sport

Samsung launched the latest smartwatch from the company which is the Gear Sport. This smartwatch is aimed at the runners and the athletes that use their smart watches on the field for various uses such as 5 ATM water resistance rating and the smartwatch is certified to use in salt water.

7. Lenovo Yoga Book

Lenovo unveiled the latest Yoga PCs at the IFA 2017 and the PCs launched at the event are the Yoga 920 and Yoga 720 series. The Lenovo Yoga 920 series PCs will be powered by Windows 10. Both the Yoga PCs from the company are expected to be launched in India in the month of October

8. Asus Zenbook Flip 14

Asus launched the Asus Zenbook Flip 14 at the Berlin event and the laptop is the world’s thinnest 2-in-1 laptop to be launched by the company. In terms of thickness, the laptop is 13.9 mm thick and the laptop weighs just 1.4 KG.

9. Fitbit Ionic

Fitbit launched its first smartwatch at the IFA 2017 which was rumored from a long time and the smartwatch is named as the Fitbit Ionic. The smartwatch, same as the other products from Fitbit is slick in design and focused on fitness. It has built in GPS and a screen of 384 x 250 pixels.

10. Sony Smart Speaker LF-S50G

Sony unveiled a smart speaker at the IFA 2017 which is competing against the like of Apple’s HomePod backed by Siri, Google Home powered by Google Assistant as well as Amazon Echo powered by Alexa. Interestingly, the Sony Smart Speaker is powered by Google Assistant.
