Xiaomi today launched the Mi MIX 2 smartphone with a bezel-less design. The Mi MIX 2 features a 5.99-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone comes with a bottom bezel that’s 12% smaller than the previous generation MIX smartphone.
The Mi MIX 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset, supported by 6GB of RAM. There’s a 12MP primary camera at the back, powered by the Sony IMX386 camera sensor, along with 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). The front camera is a basic 5MP one.
The smartphone features a hidden sound-guided speaker powered by a piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology that delivers the sound from the screen. Therefore, it has helped remove the speaker itself from the smartphone. Apart from this, another highlighted Mi MIX 2 feature shall be its support for 6 different modes, and 43 bands, making it a global LTE phone.
Mi MIX 2 comes with a 3,400mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0. The battery is relatively smaller than the last generation MIX smartphone. The smartphone will run MIUI 9 interface built on top of Android 7 Nougat.
Xiaomi has priced the Mi MIX 2 at around Rs.32,300 in China for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. Another variant with 128GB storage will be sold for RS.35,300 in China. Xiaomi has also announced a Mi MIX 2 special edition which features a full ceramic body, which will be priced at a premium of RS.46,000 in China.
